POV: Google Is a Gen Z’er… and It’s Low-Key Thirsty for Our Attention
So here’s a random but totally accurate realization I had:
Google was born in 1998. First search? September of that year.
That makes Google officially… a Gen Z. 👶💻
Yeah. Sit with that for a second.
Now suddenly, everything starts making sense.
Why Is Google Always Doing the Most?
Google’s been acting like it’s got something to prove lately.
AI this. Bard that. Gemini here. Workspace updates there.
It’s giving, “Please like me. I’m not old, I’m innovative.”
But if you think about it, Google’s just like us:
→ Constantly rebranding
→ Taking on new projects (even if no one asked)
→ Looking for its next collab
→ Trying to stay relevant without looking too desperate
We’ve all been there.
Gen Z Doesn’t Trust Easily And Google Knows It
Let’s be real.
Gen Z doesn’t fall for every shiny thing tech throws at us.
We’ve grown up in the digital world.
We’ve seen social platforms rise, crash, ghost, and come back like it’s nothing.
(Hi, Tumblr.)
So when Google launches new stuff, we’re like:
“Who asked?”
But also: “Okay wait, this kinda slaps a little.”
Google’s Real Strategy? Stay Sexy for the Algorithm and the People,
Every new tool, AI update, and creator collab is basically Google trying to stay in the game.
Not just with us, but with the next wave, Gen Alpha.
Google isn’t just future-proofing.
It’s future-flirting.
It’s the tech version of that friend who always says “I’m just vibing,”
but they’ve got a 10-tab Notion setup for their 5-year plan.
Google’s One of Us And It’s Hustling Like It.
So next time Google rolls out a random feature or tries to partner with your fave brand,
remember:
They’re just a 20-something-year-old trying to stay hot in a world full of TikToks, startups, and attention spans shorter than a BeReal notification.
And honestly?
We respect the hustle, but dislike the new tech projects and collabs.
Tag a friend who’s also acting like a tech giant in their quarter-life crisis. 👀
