It’s Croc Season, Apparently… But I’ll Stick to My Sneakers

So apparently, it’s croc season. Yup, Crocs. Those rubbery, holey shoes that used to live in your childhood backyard are now front row at fashion week. And just when you thought 2025 couldn’t get any weirder, Burberry said, “Let’s make a luxury Croc,” and the fashion girlies on TikTok went wild.

Now don’t get me wrong, TikTok trends are fun to watch. The Gen Z crowd has this magical ability to take something “ugly-cute,” throw on a filter, and make it the must-have item of the month. Crocs? Suddenly they’re getting styled with mini skirts, oversized hoodies, and monochrome streetwear. People are treating Crocs like they're Air Jordans. I scroll and scroll, everyone is croc’d out, and I’m just over here in my sneakers like... huh?

Burberry Crocs are making rounds online probably not in your cart, but definitely on your FYP. Let’s be honest: most people won’t actually buy those, but it’s croc season and everybody wants a pair somehow. Whether it’s platform Crocs, fuzzy-lined ones, or the ones decked out in Jibbitz charms, people are sprinting (in comfort, of course) to get in on the trend.

As for me? I’m a sneakers and flip-flops kind of person. Comfortable? Yes. Fashionable? Still yes. Crocs just don’t do it for me and that’s okay. Not every trend has to be adopted. Some are just meant to be admired (or side-eyed) from a distance.

But let’s give credit where it’s due: Gen Z made Crocs cool again. And maybe, just maybe, that’s the real magic of TikTok turning the unfashionable into the unstoppable.

Just don’t expect me to wear a pair. I’ll be over here in my Nike Dunks and sandals, watching the Croc wave pass by with style.
