UGC Is Oversaturated Let’s Talk About It

Lately, every time I open Instagram or TikTok, I see the same thing: creators trying to recreate the same UGC content over and over again.
It’s like we’re in a loop.
Ever since people found out you can make over $1,000 creating UGC (user-generated content), it’s become a rush. Everyone wants in. Creators are pitching like crazy, begging brands to accept them, and some are even bragging about it to other creators like it's an exclusive club.
Let’s be honest, it’s making a lot of people feel left out.
And no, this isn’t coming from a place of jealousy. It’s just reality.
We’re drowning in repetitive content. The algorithm is overwhelmed. The creativity? Honestly, it’s fading.
There’s nothing wrong with UGC, it’s opened doors for a lot of creators. But somewhere along the way, it became the only thing people are doing. The same style. The same scripts. The same transitions.
At this point, UGC isn’t a unique marketing approach anymore, it’s just become the norm. And with that shift, I’ve noticed something else: creators and influencers (especially newer ones) feeling like they have to brag about every PR package or brand freebie just to feel valid. But here’s the thing…
Anyone can get a PR package.
There’s no need to over-flex on social media.
Let’s remember why we started: storytelling, originality, connection, not chasing packages or money.
To brands: stay open to creators of all kinds, influencers, entertainers, and storytellers, not just those doing UGC. We need diversity in voices and creativity on your feed too.
UGC is a tool. It’s not the whole toolbox.
