Pixar’s upcoming film Elio has officially grabbed my attention. The idea of using aliens to tell a story about friendship, identity, and discovery is powerful, especially through the lens of a young boy trying to find connection in the unknown. It immediately reminded me of Luca, another Pixar gem where a sea monster boy’s curiosity about the human world turned into a story that was both imaginative and emotionally grounded.
What stands out about Elio is that the title character is voiced by a real kid, not an adult pretending to be one. That alone sends a clear message: Pixar values authentic talent over tradition. It’s refreshing to see a studio that isn’t afraid to take risks or break from the norm.
Some say Pixar is running out of ideas,

I disagree. If anything, they’re thinking more creatively than ever. They’re pushing boundaries and telling stories in ways traditional studios rarely attempt.
Can’t wait to see what they bring us next.
