The other day, I saw a Chief Marketing Officer on LinkedIn say, “Gen Alpha is rewriting the rules.”
And while they’re not wrong… Gen Z isn’t exactly cheering them on.
Let’s talk about it.
We’ve watched Gen Alpha grow up with iPads in hand, TikTok as their language tutor, and slang that sounds like a different dialect entirely. And now, they’re coming in hot—ready to shape culture, trends, and the internet their way.
But here’s the thing: Gen Z isn’t down for that.
We don’t just follow what Gen Alpha puts out. In fact, a lot of us are side-eyeing them hard.
Why?
Because we blame them (even if it’s half-jokingly) for:
Taking tech obsession to another level
Creating new words every week no one understands
Making things feel more chaotic than cool
And of course, when Gen Z speaks up or complains (which we do often), Gen Alpha claps back, in their own alphabet soup of made-up slang and digital confidence.
It’s not just a difference in age anymore.
It’s a whole culture clash.
Two generations. Two languages.
And neither wants to back down.
You see it all over social media.
Gen Z rants. Gen Alpha replies with ✨ “skibbity” energy.
Arguments go in circles. No one really wins, but everyone’s louder than ever.
So what does this mean?
Honestly… it means we’re witnessing something interesting.
For the first time, Gen Z isn’t the youngest generation online, and that shift is making waves.
Whether it’s funny, frustrating, or downright confusing, one thing’s clear:
This generational tug-of-war is just getting started. And if you're caught in the middle? Grab some popcorn.
