Burkinis Are Lowkey Taking Over TikTok Right Now, And Honestly, They’re Kinda Cute

Okay so let’s talk about what’s popping off on TikTok this week: Burkinis.
Yep, full coverage swimwear with the hijab included. And Gen Z girls? They’re actually loving it.
At first I was like, wait what? Full coverage at the pool? But now I’m seeing girls serve in these Burkinis, with coordinated hijabs, flowy fits, and some really aesthetic beach shots. They’re swimming, they’re diving in like actually in the water and still keeping the look together.
It’s modest fashion, but it’s also kind of giving?
We all know how TikTok fashion trends work, they come and go fast. One day it’s maxi denim skirts, the next it’s metallic cowboy boots with mini dresses. Trends last one or two days if they’re lucky. But Burkinis are holding their ground this summer, and I’m not mad at it.
Girls are redefining what swimwear looks like. Some wear Burkinis for modesty. Some just like the vibe. Either way, it's making space for more options, and more creativity.
So yeah, while I might not be a huge fan of the hijab personally, I gotta admit: Burkinis are actually slaying this summer.
