PBS To Get Defunded By Congress? What Will Happen To PBS Kids If PBS Go?

The news are chimng in and saying the president wants to defund PBS and NPR altogether. But now people are wondering what will happen to Sesame Street and kids beloved childhood television shows. I explain in this blog post.

As you all know I'm not into politics, so NPR doesn't concern me, but PBS does. I and everyone may agree that PBS have been a well trust network for many years carrying their children station PBS Kids. In Fact, PBS came into a heated debate about this in 1969 with the Senate over defunding the station. Congress and the president is playing a dangerous game here.

I was raised on watching Wordgirl, Cyberchase, Word world, and Mr. Roger's on PBS Kids in the early 2000s era, so that's why the station is very close to my heart.

What Can We Expect If Congress and The President Go Through Defunding PBS?

Where can I begin? It's so devastating to think about. But if Congress and the president decides to defund the station, PBS will try to remove its children station PBS Kids off the air and say, due to the president defunding our over the air budget, we can no longer afford to air PBS Kids on national television, so we are removing it off the air.

PBS will also say, we are deeply sorry for your concern and everyone elses at this moment. Imagine coming home or changing the station to just see that news appear on your TV. This is why I say Congress and the president playing a dangerous game.

We Now Know Part Of The Issue of Defunding PBS is Because of Drag Queens Being On Children Stations like PBS Kids. How Do You Feel About PBS Kids and Other Children Stations Teaching Kids about Drag Queen In General?

Well honestly, I leave this decision to the parents on whether they want their kids to watch them or not. I recently can say that, I watched A Nickelodeon film featuring a drag queen as part of the main character's cast list in their film. I'm not calling the film name out or when it been released due to I don't want to start no controversy. But I had no problem watching because a drag queen was in there.

Some may question why, or does this mean I support drags being on children networks? First of all, the film by Nickelodeon was completely neutral and didn't acknowledge no drag queen of any such in the dialogue. It was just jokes and laughter for everyone to watch. So my answer is, I don't mind they being on television as long as what they saying is completely neutral and just stick to making audience laugh. Even if they so call dressed the part.

I'm not saying that parents who are concerned about their young kids over watching drag to support this decision, because at the end of the day it's them making the decision, and not me as a commentator to do so. I know parents that are concerned about them, doesn't make kids watch shows or stations that involve drags altogether. If so, only a few shows by their parental guidance.

So In All, You Saying, Let The Parents Make The Decision For Their Kids and Not Congress?

Exactly and as long as dialogue in children shows focus on laughter then education about them, I don't mind watching.
