First let me explain before everyone starts thinking I'm defending President Trump. Also I strongly disagree with him since he defunded PBS entirely. Anyways, just a month ago, the creative director for Loveshackfancy went on Bloomberg news to explain the company try to keep their women of all ages clothes affordable for women to buy at their stores or online. Tariffs haven't impact them at all during the high tariff prices impact on retail stores.
So I know for once, it's not the tariffs. According to the article on LinkedIn which you can read here, Chanel been suffering since 2020 of lost revenue. https://www.linkedin.com/news/story/chanel-sales-take-a-fall-6848225.

The fact that this wasn't disclose to the public then was they trying to protect their brand and identity. I know Chanel been using celebs for years to promote their products or fashion at events, but unlike Loveshackfancy their focus is on remaining a luxury brand and not focusing on affordable prices. So that could also have a impact too.
Chanel send more gifted products to influencers and UGC creators to avoid going over their budget since it's tight. I know for a fact in this age, being luxurious and not focusing on affordable prices can cost you, since more people tends to drive away from high prices.
Heres what Chanel could do to get back their revenue. Focus more on making their label affordable, still keep the exclusive luxurious brand feeling and it's products, just try to drop those high prices.
Regular people will go back shopping at the brand stores when they see affordable prices.
Affordable prices is very important in these days due to the tariffs crisis.
